Tutorial & Step-by-Step Guide

How to Track a PostEx Order, Step by Step

A simple guide for online shoppers in Pakistan. Find your tracking number, understand each update and sort out delays.

Independent Consumer Notice: This guide is written by postex-tracking.com. We are not part of PostEx (Pvt.) Ltd. and PostEx has not approved this site. For PostEx’s own tools, visit the PostEx website or call their helpline on (042) 111 786 227.

How an Online Order Reaches You

When you buy from an online shop or a seller on social media, three people are involved: the seller who packs your order, PostEx who carries it, and you, the receiver.

Tracking shows you each step between the seller and your door. You will see when the parcel is collected, sorted at a hub, sent to your city and given to a rider. It helps you know when to expect your order and when to have the cash ready for COD.

Where to Find Your PostEx Tracking Number

You need the tracking number for your parcel. The seller usually shares it in one of three ways:

  • Automated Merchant SMS: When the seller books your order, you usually get an SMS on the phone number you gave at checkout. It says your order is on its way with PostEx and gives the tracking number.
  • Email Shipping Confirmation: Most online shops send a “Your order is on the way” email with a tracking link and number.
  • On the parcel label: On a parcel you already have, the tracking number is printed under the barcode on the plastic flyer.

To learn more about the barcode and the numbers on it, read our PostEx Tracking Number Guide.

Order number or tracking number?

A common mistake is typing the shop’s order number into a courier tracker.

Your shop receipt often shows an order number such as Order #4592. That number is only for the shop’s own records, for example in Shopify or WooCommerce. PostEx cannot find your parcel with it.

PostEx tracking needs the tracking number PostEx made when the parcel was booked. Always search with that number, not the shop’s order number.

Where to Track Your PostEx Order

You can track on our site, on PostEx’s own website (https://postex.pk/), or with the tracking link in the seller’s SMS.

When you type the tracking number:

  • Type or paste the whole number exactly, with no spaces before or after it.
  • Do not add the shop’s name, prices or phone numbers.
  • Press track to see the list of updates in order.
3

What the First Status Means

The first time you check, you will often see a status such as "Order Created" or "Shipment Booked".

This first update is made when the seller prints a shipping label in their PostEx account. The parcel is still with the seller at this point. It is waiting for a PostEx rider to collect it. PostEx pickups usually happen in the afternoon.

The parcel is really on its way once you see a scan such as "Picked Up" or "Arrived at Origin Hub". To see what every status means, read our PostEx tracking status meanings.

4

Following Your Parcel to Delivery Day

On its way, your parcel passes through these steps:

  • Origin Processing Hub: The parcel is weighed, measured and sent towards your city.
  • Line-Haul In Transit: The parcel moves between big hubs, for example from Lahore to Karachi or Islamabad. There are no scans while it is on the road.
  • Destination Delivery Center: The parcel reaches your city and is given to the rider for your area.
  • Out for Delivery: A rider has your parcel and will deliver it during the day.
5

Getting Ready for Delivery and COD

When the status changes to “Out for Delivery”, do these things:

  • Keep Your Phone Reachable: Riders often call or send an SMS before they arrive, to check someone is home. Keep your phone on.
  • Prepare Exact Cash: If you are paying cash on delivery, have the exact amount ready in rupees, as the rider may not have change.
  • Verify the Parcel Label: Before you pay, check the label shows your name, address and the right COD amount.

What to Do If Tracking Says “No Record Found”

If you see “No Record Found” or “Invalid Tracking ID”, do not worry. It usually has one of three simple causes:

  1. Brand New Booking: The seller has only just made the label. It can take a few hours to show up in PostEx’s system.
  2. Typo in Tracking Number: Check for easy mix-ups, such as a 0 versus letter O.
  3. Not handed over yet: The seller has a tracking number but has not given the parcel to PostEx yet.

If there is still no record 24 hours after you got the tracking number, read our guide on PostEx Tracking Not Updating.

Who to Contact: the Seller or PostEx?

Asking the right person saves time:

Contact the online shop if:

  • You never got a tracking number after ordering.
  • You want to cancel the order or change what you ordered.
  • The tracking has said “Order Created” for several days and nobody has collected the parcel.
  • Something in the parcel is missing, broken or wrong.

Contact PostEx Support When:

  • It said “Out for Delivery” but no rider came.
  • It says “Delivery Failed – Consignee Unavailable” but you were at home.
  • You need the rider to try again or you want to give directions.
  • The tracking stopped changing while the parcel was between hubs.

You can call PostEx support on their helpline: (042) 111 786 227 or by emailing support@postex.pk. For tips on calling and what to have ready, see our PostEx Customer Support Directory.
