Troubleshooting & Delay Resolution

PostEx Tracking Not Updating: Why It Happens and What to Do

Has your PostEx tracking shown the same status for days? Find out why scans pause, how to tell what is normal, and simple steps to sort out a late parcel.

Independent Consumer Notice: postex-tracking.com is an independent tracking guide, not PostEx (Pvt.) Ltd. We cannot move vehicles or add scans. If your parcel is badly delayed, contact PostEx support on (042) 111 786 227.

Why Tracking Can Stop Updating

It is stressful to see your tracking stay the same for days, especially for something valuable or urgent. It is natural to wonder if the parcel is lost or forgotten.

Usually, a status that has not changed does not mean your parcel is lost. Tracking only updates when the parcel is scanned at a hub or station. In between, it travels without being scanned.

Most common reason: the label is made before the parcel is collected

The label is printed, but the parcel is still with the shop.

The most common reason for tracking that seems stuck just after you get an SMS is the gap between the shop printing a label and PostEx collecting the parcel.

When a shop prepares orders, it prints courier labels in bulk. Printing a label sends you an SMS with a tracking number straight away and sets the status to "Order Created" or "Booking Manifest Generated".

But the parcel often stays at the shop until PostEx collects it. If the shop packed your order on a Saturday afternoon or at a busy holiday time, PostEx may not collect it until Monday. Until then, the tracking will not change at all.

Travel between cities

Long trips by road between hubs.

Tracking also pauses while a parcel travels between big hubs. For example, a parcel going from Lahore to Karachi, Multan or Peshawar travels in a sealed truck on the main roads.

While in transit:

  • Parcels cannot be scanned while they are packed inside the truck.
  • Long trips between provinces take time, and PostEx has not published delivery times we could check.
  • The status will keep showing "In Transit to Destination Hub" until the truck reaches the hub in your region and is unloaded.

Sundays, Holidays and Weather

Things outside PostEx’s control that slow parcels down.

PostEx delivers Monday to Saturday. There are no doorstep deliveries on Sundays or public holidays such as Eid, Independence Day or Ashura.

Weather and busy periods can also slow parcels down for a while:

  • Dense Winter Fog (Smog): In Punjab, thick winter fog can stop trucks travelling at night on the motorways.
  • Heavy rain and flooding: Heavy rain can flood streets and stop riders on motorbikes for a while.
  • Peak Shopping Surges: During big sales (such as 11.11, Blessed Friday or Eid sales), huge numbers of parcels can cause short delays at the hubs.

When to Wait and When to Ask for Help

PostEx has not published normal delivery times for every route, so instead of counting hours, look at which of these matches your parcel:

  • Still “In Transit” between cities: This is normal. The road trip is not visible in tracking.
  • At your city’s hub for longer than the earlier steps took: Worth checking, because the parcel is already nearby and only needs to go out on a delivery round.
  • It was moving, then stopped updating completely: Worth asking about now instead of waiting, because this is not how normal tracking behaves.

A Simple Checklist for Shoppers

If your tracking has paused for longer than you would expect, go through these steps:

  1. Step 1: Check when it was really sent: Find out when the shop actually handed the parcel to PostEx, not when you placed the order.
  2. Step 2: Check your phone: Look for missed calls or messages from numbers you do not know. Riders often call to find your address.
  3. Step 3: Check your address and phone number: Look at your order confirmation to make sure your house number, street, area and phone number are correct.
  4. Step 4: Check the calendar: Remember Sundays, public holidays and bad weather in your area, which can pause deliveries.

Who to Contact and When

Option A

Contact the Selling Store

Contact the shop first if the status has stayed on "Order Created" for a couple of days. The shop has the account with PostEx and can raise it directly, or send the items again if PostEx never collected them.

Option B

Contact PostEx Customer Support

Contact PostEx directly if the parcel was collected and reached a hub but has not moved for several working days, or if a wrong problem status appears.

What to have ready before you call:

  • Your complete PostEx Tracking Number.
  • The receiver’s full name and phone number.
  • The delivery address, with a landmark.
  • The name of the shop or brand you ordered from.
