PostEx Delivery Time: How Many Days Does PostEx Take?
A simple guide to how long PostEx takes to deliver online orders in Pakistan. See why same-city and other-city parcels move at different speeds, what slows them down, and what to do if tracking stops.
Independent Consumer Notice: postex-tracking.com is an independent help site. PostEx (Pvt.) Ltd. does not own, run or approve it. What we say about timing below is general guidance, not a promise. For questions about your parcel, contact PostEx on (042) 111 786 227.
Standard Domestic Delivery Expectations
When you shop online, how long delivery takes depends mostly on how far the seller’s warehouse is from your address.
PostEx has not published delivery times we could check, so we do not give a number of days. Here is how the main types of route usually compare:
- Same-City (Intra-City) Deliveries: Usually the quickest, because the parcel stays in one city. PostEx has not published a figure for this, so be careful with exact day counts you see on other sites.
- Between big cities: Parcels between big cities, such as Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Faisalabad, travel on the busiest routes, which run most often.
- Smaller cities and towns: Parcels to smaller towns usually take longer, because they need one more stop at a regional hub.
Remember, the delivery time starts when PostEx physically receives the parcel from the seller, not when you place your order.
Same City vs Another City
The route your parcel takes explains why some deliveries are faster than others:
Intra-City Delivery Path
If the seller and you are in the same city, a rider collects the parcel, takes it to the city’s sorting station, and it goes straight to the delivery station for your area.
Inter-City Line-Haul Path
If the parcel is going to another city, it is sorted at the first hub, travels by truck, is sorted again at the hub in your city, and then goes to your local station before a rider takes it.

What Affects PostEx Delivery Time
These are the main things that change how fast a PostEx parcel reaches you:
- How fast the seller hands it over: A seller may print a label on Thursday but only hand the parcel to PostEx on Friday evening. The parcel cannot start moving until PostEx has it.
- Ground Line-Haul Highway Conditions: Parcels between cities travel by road. Road works, traffic or closed roads can make the trip longer.
- Seasonal Weather Obstacles: In winter, thick fog and smog in Punjab can slow trucks at night. Heavy monsoon rain can flood roads and slow down riders.
- Promotional Peak Volumes: Big sale days, such as 11.11, Blessed Friday or Eid sales, bring many more parcels, which can slow down sorting.
- Recipient Contact Availability: If the rider comes but your phone is off or you do not answer, the parcel cannot be delivered and has to wait for another try.
Why Tracking Does Not Update All the Time
Tracking updates come from scans, not from a live map. When a parcel is loaded onto a truck, it stays packed inside, so nobody scans it while the truck is on the road.
A gap with no new update is normal while the parcel travels between cities. When the truck reaches the next hub, the parcels are unpacked and scanned, and your tracking updates.
If your tracking has not changed for several days, read our guide to PostEx Tracking Not Updating.
How to Set Realistic Delivery Expectations
Keep these points in mind when you wait for a parcel:
- Count working days, not all days: PostEx delivers Monday to Saturday. There are no doorstep deliveries on Sundays or public holidays such as Eid.
- Watch for “Out for Delivery”: Until you see “Out for Delivery”, the parcel is still travelling or being sorted. Once it says “Out for Delivery”, the rider usually tries to deliver it that day.
- Have the COD cash ready: For cash on delivery orders, have the exact amount ready so the handover is quick. Read our PostEx COD Tracking Guide for full doorstep preparation details.
What to Do If Your PostEx Parcel Is Late
If your parcel is taking longer than you expected, follow these steps:
- Verify Physical Dispatch: Check that the status has moved past “Order Created”. If it has not, the seller has not handed the parcel to PostEx yet.
- Review Exception Flags: See if a recent scan says “Consignee Unreachable” or “Address Incomplete”. If it does, contact PostEx soon and give them a landmark.
- Call PostEx with your tracking number: Call the PostEx helpline on (042) 111 786 227 or email support@postex.pk with your tracking number and delivery address.
